Brooke’s Artwork Love:

To some people, art can be a chore and hard to pursue. But I have a different opinion. I love participating in sports and especially love being a ski instructor at Mohawk Mountain where I live but expressing my feelings through drawing makes me feel even happier and inspired. I won an award at my school as the head cover for the play “Working”.

Some of my favorite things to draw and paint are landscapes, abstract, and portraits. I have taken many art classes throughout high school and still love to do it in my spare time. I work at Jennifer Terzian Art Gallery and love just viewing the art on the walls and speaking with patrons about all the fabulous pieces hanging on the wall.

My artistic endeavors come through even when I babysit. I always love to do arts and crafts and draw with kids. I find it a rewarding and therapeutic way to spend time doing something that I love while sharing and instructing the kids I babysit.

My artwork has been displayed throughout the hallways at my school and taken to school events and functions that we have throughout the year. Besides drawing and painting, I love to sculpt pottery using the wheel and making pieces around my house and as gifts for others.

Other than painting, sculpting is one of my favorite things to do. Especially when using the wheel, you can handcraft and shape different designs to make something specific. One of my favorite projects that I did was making a vase as a gift for my mom for Mother’s Day. I painted it the color of her favorite room. This matched the style of the room by adding her favorite shapes in the vase which added a different perspective to the room. Over the last semester I made plates, cups, bowls, vases, ring holders, and even some animal crafts.
